Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22, 1960) is an American rock guitarist, singer, producer and actress.
She is best known for her hit single "I Love Rock N' Roll," which was #1 on the Billboard charts from March 20 to May 8 of 1982, as well as for her other popular recordings including "Crimson and Clover", "Do You Wanna Touch Me", "Light of Day", "I Hate Myself For Loving You", "Little Liar" and "Love Is All Around". Jett has a Mezzo-Soprano vocal range.
Joan Jett has recently released a new album, Sinner, on Blackheart Records, her own label. To support the album, the band appeared on the 2006 Warped Tour, and embarked on a Fall 2006 tour with Eagles of Death Metal. Various other bands like Valient Thorr, The Vacancies, Throw Rag and Riverboat Gamblers will hook up with the tour for a handful of dates each.

Joan Jett sang a duet with Chase Noles on "Tearstained Letters," a song on the recently released Heart Attacks album, Hellbound and Heartless.
On the 12th of November she and the Blackhearts will appear with Motorhead and Alice Cooper in the Bournemouth Internation Center.
Announced in April of 2007, "Neon Angels", a film to produced by Art and John Linson, will finally tell the real tale of the Runaways. The biographical film will be based on a memoir by Currie that reveals details about the girls' experiences with music, sex, and drugs. Floria Sigismondi, who has also directed videos for Marilyn Manson, the White Stripes, and David Bowie, will write and direct. Jett will be an executive-producer, along with her manager and producer, Kenny Laguna and Brian Young.
Jett told Daily Variety, "We certainly utilized to our advantage our image as teenage girls who wore titillating clothes. But we also became an excellent band and made it OK for girls to play rock and roll. It got hard once people focused more on what we were wearing than what we were playing."
